Calls back lots of memories for me, when we used to have zinnias in our garden up in Barrington, Illinois. They are one of my favorites because they come in almost every color of the rainbow. So cheerful and easy to grow! Yellow and pink are, of course, my favorites. This is an oil painting on 1.5" Gallery wrap 10"x10" canvas. Great for a bedroom, kitchen, sunroom, or any place that needs a dash of happy, mixed-bouquet, spring and summer colors! $100.00 with free shipping in the U.S.

Sides of canvas are painted a coordinating neutral color. Blue anemones are one of the few true blue spring flowers, making them special in any bouquet. I especially like the ones that are blue in the center and end up in a frill of white petals all around. So charming in a bouquet of mixed blues and purples like this one! $145.00 with free shipping to anywhere in the U.S.

I got a chance to use one of my favorite colors, quinacridone coral, as well as lots of opera pink and quinacridone magenta. An ethereal yet spicy-colored orchid, to warm up the coldest day! This is a varnished water color, which means it has been protected with varnish and will not need a frame. The cradled panel is 2" deep with varnished wood sides and is wired and ready to hang, or to display on a table or shelf. Available for $65.00 with free shipping. Here's my latest little orchid beauty, a spray of jungle green cymbidium flowers. It is a varnished watercolor, 5"x 7" on Aquabord panel, done with professional grade watercolors, and glazed with satin finish acrylic for a permanent protective shield, allowing the painting to be displayed on an easel without the barrier of glass and matting in a frame. These little pictures are no end of fun to create, and will grace someone's desk or bookshelf with tropical colors and cheerful tidings for years to come. $30.00 postpaid in the US. Here is a 20"x 20" acrylic, created with professional grade paints, on a 1.5" cradled cotton canvas panel that I did in mid-May of this year. It is a very happy picture, with lots of bright, sunny colors and a buoyant attitude. I painted this beautiful bouquet while visiting my sister, Pamela Gatens, in West Virginia. She is a well-known artist up there and often exhibits her work at the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, where she also does frequent painting demonstrations. We had a great time painting together, comparing notes, and she gave me some great ideas for more acrylic subjects this summer. This one is available for $300.00 with free shipping. This is my latest, just off the drawing board. A painting of my white cattleya orchids that bloomed on my porch railing in front of my little travel trailer in Clearwater, Florida. There were about a dozen of these beauties, all open at once, and as fragrant as the finest perfume! This is a varnished watercolor, done on 22" x 30" Ampersand Aquabord, 2" cradled panel. It is wired and ready for hanging, no frame or matting required! It is the newest way to display watercolors, making them as durable and open to admiration as any oil or acrylic painting. $500.00.

Here is another great cattleya hybrid. I really enjoyed the challenge of painting yellow flowers, which can be hard to describe within the limited parameters of the yellows available of watercolor medium. The bouquet of happy orchid faces is so cheerful, it makes me feel happy every time I pass by this painting in the hallway of my studio. The image is 15x22 inches, painted on 300 lb. Arches natural watercolor paper. This original painting is available for $300.00.
